About Me

I am part of the Marketing and Operations team for the Capital Hip Hop Soul Fest and am thrilled to be part of such a history-making event. The artists who are part of the line-up are tremendously talented and will be representing the DC area well. Check out the main page for details on the festival. The official website will be going up in mid-May. The website and all festival-related logos have been designed by MYSTstudios. What Can I Say?? I am an entertainer at heart, I guess, even though I enjoy the behind-the-scenes process so much.

(scene from "Shades of Black: a thought in progress") I am officially a playwright! My play "Shades of Black: a thought in progress" was great success. We had over 200 people in attendance at each show when the play ran from Feb. 12 to Feb. 14, 2008. The feedback has been inspiring. Check out photos in my photo gallery from the play.

I recently starred in a production of the "Vagina Monologues" in March 2008. I performed the monologue "The Flood". I portrayed a 72 year-old woman who had never used her vagina before due to an unfortunate experience. I think I am going to perform in the production each year if given a chance. The monologues address issues that take people outside of their comfort zone regarding violence against women. It includes stories from women of all nationalities and experiences. This year's production was directed and produced by one of my students, Susan O'Hara. Very proud of her! (here is a pic of the 2008 cast)

Lastly, I LOVE taking pictures...can't get enough...especially when its of those I love...
