My Mission In Life

My name is Sistah Guru and I welcome you to my page. I hope you will enjoy your stay. Remember, as goodness is given to you, you must also continue the cycle and give to another!

I would like to share with you my work and mission:

I am a healer, a caretaker, a teacher, a mother, a sister, a daughter, an aunty, a cousin, a niece, a wife and a friend. I would like to think of myself as a stepping stone on a pathway to self-discovery. I go about creating a space where sistahs can learn how incredibly wonderful they are by teaching them to love themselves and realize their true potential within the perfect plan.

I assist the Universal forces in awakening all those that have fallen asleep and forgotten there true purpose.

I am a sistah who supports sistahs. I help sistahs take charge of their lives. I help them discover their own power and inner wisdom and strengths. I help them get the blocks and the barriers out of the way, so they can love themselves no matter what! This does not mean that we will never have problems, but it’s how we react to the problem that makes the difference.

In walking this Spiritual path I have found that there is only one thing that heals every problem, and that is: to love yourself. When we begin to love ourselves more each day and let go of the old belief system that has held up captivity for soooooo long, it’s amazing how our lives get better. We even feel a lot better. So many of us hide from ourselves and we don’t even know who we truly are. We don’t know what we feel, we don’t know what we want, or we think we know what we want.

Life is a school of self – discovery. Enlightenment to me means to go deep within oneself to search for the answers to whom and what we really are, and to know we have the ability to change our lives for the better, by loving and taking care of ourselves and making better choices.

In doing so it enables us to love ourselves enough to love others. We are more of a help to the universe, when we come from a space of great love on an individual basis. The bible says “Love thy neighbor as thyself.” We often forget the last couple of words – as thyself. We really can’t love anyone else truly unless the love starts inside us. When I talk about loving ourselves, I mean having a deeper appreciation for who we are. We accept all the different parts to ourselves, i.e. our looks, our height, our weight, the things that we may not do so well, and all the wonderful attributes too. We accept the whole package unconditionally with LOVE.

Unfortunately, many of us will not love ourselves until we lose the weight, or forgive ourselves for a wrong doing we comitted 10 years ago, or whatever! We too often put conditions on our love. But we can change. We can love ourselves as we are right now! If you are not willing to love yourself today, then you are not going to love yourself tomorrow, because whatever excuse you have today, you will have tomorrow, and may even leave this earth holding on to the same old excuse. Today can be the day you choose to love yourself totally with no expectations. It’s a choice that only you can make.

So let us all remember the love starts with whom? It starts with us. We really can’t love anyone else unless the love starts inside of us. Self-love is the most important gift we can give to ourselves, because when we love who we are, we will not hurt ourselves, and we will not hurt anyone else. Love is something we can choose, the same way we choose anger, or hate, or sadness. We can choose love. It is always a choice within us. Let’s begin right now in this moment to choose love. It is the most powerful healing force there is. Love begins in our hearts and it begins with us!
