To be able to live out all of my dreams to the fullest. Begin to live my life for my happiness. I want to write a book of short stories, poetry, and a autobighraphy. I also want to some day become a dietician and teach our young about what it means to be healthy and love your body. At the end of the day I want to be able to look at my beautiful caramel complexion in the mirror and say, " you made a difference in somebody today." I want to make a difference in this world.

About Me
I am first and foremost a child of God. Next I am a mother and a wife. I love my family dearly. I have started a journey to find me. I know sounds weird, but everyday I learn new things about myself. I love to read and write poetry when I'm not studying. I am currently in school to become a dietician. In 2006 I went natural and that was the best thing I could have done for myself. In 2007 I began my journey to locdom. These events gave me the best feeling. They gave me the feeling of freedom and confidence. I feel like I can conqueror anything I set forth to do. I have begun to try and live everyday of my life to the fullest.
Your mission and your about me statement warmed my heart. I am too on the journey of locdom. I went natural in my ninth grade year and have taught myself how to take care of my hair and body. You are so right about it setting you free and giving you confidence. I was overseas when my sister introduced me to Assata Shakur, an activist who is now in asylum in Cuba after being falsely jailed by the FBI. Assata Shakur's Autobiography gave me someone that i could relate to. She spoke about growing up and looking around her to see women who would say "i can't go into the rain or my hair will go back" and she raised the question " go back to what?" and out of that whole book that phrase stood out to me and i realized "what do i have to be afraid of? Why am i afraid of myself?". I started going natural and later cut my hair and started from scratch and never turned back. I know that whenever you write your own autobiography it will affect a young girl, as i was, and make her see why she doesn't have to go back. It is great to have come across your site. Continue to grow/influence/inspire. peace!
Thanks so much that really touched my heart! I'm glad you see where I'm coming from. Everyday is a growing and learning process for me. Locking my hair is also healing to me. Healing from lots of things in my past growing up in a family that lacked love. I told my local circle sisters once that when I cut my hair I cut off alot of bullshit and began my growth.
Also I absolutely LOVE, LOVE your work!!! It is beautiful. You have such great talent keep it up. BIG CONGRATS on your acceptance to college! Keep your head up!
What is everybody doing for black history month? I was joking with my friend at work the other day telling her its our month! Its all about us this month. Where I live it seems that black history isn't taught as in ur schools as much as it used to be when I was growing up. So I have decided not to leave it up to the school to teach my son about our history. Everyday I will teach him about a different person that was apart of our great history. I have also picked up two books by Dick Gregory. In case you don't know who he is (bc I didn't know..lol) he is a black comedian and civil rights activist. Pick up his books "Nigger" and "Callus on my Soul." I just finished reading Nigger today, I got it on tuesday. It was awesome. Now I am about to start the next book. Have a great weekend everyone! Regina King said this yesterday on HBO There would be no history if there were no black history. Peace and love to all
