About Me

  • What is not wished to be known is done in secret
  • A whisperer looks suspiciously at the forest when he hears a noise, but the forest does not tell tales
  • Another's eye is not like one's own

It is through error and correction that I learn how to properly address the Orishas, Egun (the spirits of the dead, the ancestors) and Elders.

Pele o (I great you gently)

Giving honor and respect to Awon Iya Wa (Our Mothers) residing in: Orun and Aye (the invisible spiritual realm of the ancestors, gods, and spirits and the visible, tangible world of the living)

Let it be known that I am not a priestess but more so a devotee (minus the beads) of IFA/ATR in pursuit of gentle character (Iwa-pele). It is a lot I must learn/study and do before I wear the title some respectfully wear.

Been reading about the enslavement of the African and how many were transported to places like: Cuba, P.Rico, Trinidad, Jamaica, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Brazil, Agrentina, Venezuela and North/South America. And how these places and the religions connect: Santeria, Candomble, Shango, Lucumi and Voodun. Its interesting!

Still not on that tip of faking the funk, iwa pele (gentle character) means a great deal to me. I may shake but it be only the bell, maraca or shac-shac, and no lies, tricks or deception, but education, commutation and action.

Studying to show thy self approved and asking questions when I don’t understand.

Thinking of you

Peace and Wellness

Beloved, I pray that this email reaches you in the very best of health and spirits. I am very sorry to hear about your VA denial. I too am having great difficulty with my claims as well. However, your family was right to advise you not to give up. It is very difficult for us at times to think rationally when we are faced with adversity. However, I am thankful to Allah(God) that he surrounded you with love and support. The VA is a racist, sexist, unjust system. It is a shame that a system that corrupt is allowed to exsist. Are you eligible for the VA Vocational Rehab Program? I would like to give you my number to call me however, I am not sure if it is allowed on this board. Who would I ask?

I just received ill news from the VA right around the same time that you did! I am curious as to the number of claims that are denied/verses the claims that are approved. It is as if we have no real voice. I mean really, how many times have you seen any of the major media stations and or newspapers do a cover story about the thousands of Black/Latino/Asian/Native American/ Hispanic women who are raped in the military? Our (Black media, politicans, organizations) refuse to acknowledge us because it is a belief/myth/BIG ORGANIZED LIE THAT BLACK WOMEN CANNOT BE RAPED! I have written tons of letters and seldom do I receive any replies.

Many Black people are afraid to stand up these days and will knock anyone else down that tries to raise awareness of anything positive. I will keep you in my prayers! Please stay in touch! You are not alone! I am here and I by Allah's (God's) divine mercy will stand until Allah decides that my journey is over!

Be ye not afraid! God sees everything and you will be adjudicated. Know that everytime someone else is raped while serving in the military, You are adjudicated. All of us cannot be liars! So know that when you have done all that you can do and you cannot do anymore......JUST STAND!

A rose by any other name is still a rose and Military Sexual Trauma(MST) is still RAPE!
