Thank you for making me your sister...We have the same initials except mine are L. Devon. My middle name is Devon that is so funny.
Have a wonderful day.
Thank you for extending the invitation of sisterhood :) I see that you're a writer as well...seems like everyone here is a writer--it's a beautiful thing! I look forward to reading your poetry and chatting with you in the present...the future's so far away ;)
Peace

I'm just going to jump in on this because this is also an idea of mine and actually I've begun working towards my proposal for the Imhotep School of Independent Thought. I've found that what I've done is talk about the concept of reworking how potential teacher at the independent school would view the psychology of black folk. I have a partial reading list of Kunjufu is necessary reading, The Developmental Psychology of the Black Child, Black Children, Launching Our Black Children Towards Success, Understanding and Educating African-American Children these are a few books to begin with. I ,like you, am also a special education teacher desperate to find an alternative that does not treat education with a "back of the bus mentality."
It's a beautiful quote, isn't it? It's a strong reminder that in honoring who I am the world around me will be a true reflection of that appreciation for self. Thank you for connecting, sister! Create a wonderful weekend.
Just sending you a shout out Sis...I see the Wiz is one of your favs...me too! " Ease on down, Ease on down, the road; don't you carry nothing that might be a load..." funny how truth can be sang while skipping the yellow brick road lol
Peaceful GREETINGS
Thanks for becoming my new SISTER!
Stay BLESSED!
