I have reached a nexus in my life. I began dating a fellow a few weeks ago. His spirit has attached to mine, and I cannot stop thinking about him. We had decided to take things slow (no sex). Yesterday, he hit me with some hard news. He can longer date me because he and I do not share the same religious beliefs. I am a Buddhist and he is Muslim. I am a firm believer in strengthening your faith through practice and study, however the fact that this man (a high intellectual one at that!), is allowing some archaic "law" determine who he can and cannot have feelings for, makes me think that he's using it as an excuse. I DO NOT want him to abandon his faith and I certainly am not abandoning mine, and to be frank (even though it has been a VERY short period of time), I do not want him to abandon me. Has anyone ever been in this predicament, and it work out?
