Hi Ladies! I thought I would share a quilt that I made some time a go as inspiration to me making a "prayer" quilt. I love quilting, not so much the traditional way, but making blankets and personal size art quilts are a lot of fun and relaxing. Do any of you quilt or have any of you made a covering/bedspread. i did one similar to this one for a bed and breakfast in Savannah...no picture though...sigh. I actually just snapped a pic of this one while we were visiting my father-n-lay in South Carolina...ho bought it from me...and every time we go over to his house I spend a little quality time with the quilt...LOL...smile. Do you ever miss a piece of art that you either sold or gave away?

Beautiful and so inspiring...
I made my first quilt for my soon to be sister in law ( fingers crossed :) I wished I took a picture! It was pretty good for my first attempt. Since the baby is going to be a Leo and we wasn't sure if it would be a girl or boy - I made it yellow, orange, and red with little lions on it! I love your quilt! What technique did you use?

LOVE IT!
I have four quilting projects on my agenda this year, mind you I am not a quilter, just love'm to death...your's gives me inspiration that I don't need to go all crazy with a pattern, cutting specific squares colors and such...I'm going to make mind look just like yours, mostly using the kids clothes that are too small that I love.

Love It, Ericka!
I think the best quilts are those that let the fabric do the talking, and yours has so much to say! The best ones are also easy and stress free. It's good that you can still visit it every now and then too ; ) You bring up a good point about ALWAYS documenting your work. I take pics as a general rule, both of works-in-progress and the finished result. Even if you don't plan to give the piece away or sell it, you want to have a record of what you've created, just in case it gets "lost", etc. I'd encourage everyone to get into that habit. It can also help your creative process in future projects, to be able to look back at how you work...And don't forget your label on the back!!!
Hey, maybe the B&B in Savannah can send you a photo of the quilt??
Keep stitching (non-traditionally, of course ; )

Greetings: Your quilt is FABULOUS!
I started saving large squares of fabric many years ago. About 6 years ago, I put together a quilt I named Scrap Happy! Today I am a professional longarm machine quilter and I love every quilt I ever pieced or quilted. It is truly an expression of who I am.
I will try to post a picture of scrap happy and others if I can.
Stay in Peace & Joy!

Doorways: I'm Afraid I Will Miss It!
This is a wall hanging I made for work. It's made using fabric designed by a stylist I liked a lot and who is no longer with us. I'm torn between keeping it as a reminder of her or giving it to her children whom I'm close too. For now it's in the bottom of a storage bin.
I'm really proud this wall hanging. I find it very calming.
Your quilt is very beautiful!
WOW
