Sew...what are some of you current sewing projects? Do you all prefer sewing clothing or more crafty/decor items. I want to create more clothing for myself, especially for the summer. i picture some cute and simple tops that I can wear with leggings and sandals/flip flops. However my absolute first project is to make me a sewing machine cover. i think that if I keep my sewing machine out and set up and ready for use, then maybe I will be more avid to create something weekly!
Projects I would like to do:
sewing machine cover
tops
skirts
sundresses
pillows for my couch and chairs
tea towels
some pretty aprons for cooking inspiration
thats all for now, so I will keep you all posted and hopefully have pics and tutorials to go along with it. But I must say that I hate patterns...I for some reason cannot get those darn things down packed...i usually just rip up old clothing and use it as a pattern or just eyeball it...LOL. Enough of my ramble.. I will be back soon with project updates! Happy sewing.
I've been itching to sew....
something, so I'm thinking about some summer dresses and handbags. Some easy stuff since I haven't sewn very much. I LOVE LOVE LOVE fashion though and have been designing for a while and I have a lot of time on my hands right now so I'll be posting something soon after its finished. My daughters have decided that (Us girls) should make quilt skirts from scraps of old clothing. Instead of a more traditional quilt they've decided to make their own fashion statement. So that's the route we are going. We'll see how it turns out.

Great idea I have so many clothes that are just way to big now that I lost 45 pounds making new clothes out of those would be great!
I would love to see the end result caus I have no idea how to go about it. I am a pattern girl myself and since I have no tailors dummy yet (Why are those things sooo expensive?!) I would not know where to begin!

I liked the color when I bought the fabric on the market in the summer but it looks like a nude color on me now since the winter and anemia took most of my skincolor. The fabric is a bi-stretch cotton, I did use a pattern from a dutch sewingmagazine.
What are you working on right now? I want to make a cover to hold my Sacred women book and my copybook and pen, this will make it easier to take it along when I take the boys to the park or pool. I am still trying to figure out a way to make it :-)

Did you know i have one of those? LOL I never really talk about it. I have become so frustrated with fashion and my mind always seems to be thinking of all these complicated things to do that I got fed up with my sewing machine OH and i don't have adequate space. My sewing machine is in its box and so is my serger.
I wish i could participate, this would get my juices flowing again.

Oh another very exited sister on board here! I would really like to make some nice summer skirts and light tops! to often I go into stores and find nothing that really makes my heart jump, especially where the skirts are concerned. Oh and I like the pillows for the couch idea to. That will be really cool. Got to fix my sewing machine, I was going to buy a new one and just remembered that my husband has a really good one from from singer that just needs to be tuned up what a relief!! So I'm going to take that to get fixed this weekend and Im off!!! Great, this is just great!!!
