y'all have made my DAY!
it's been a wfehile since i stopped in...
i got to feelin like all of my blogs were soundin the same
on some woe is me
i'm so weary and carryin on
which i honestly ain't mad about
cause that's how i was feelin
i just didn't wanna read it 4 and 5 times in different blog entries
so...i posted in one of my other blogs LOL
in any case
coming here first thing this morning
and responding to people's blogs
and soaking up the positivity and listening to the song that i have on my OWN profile was a fabulous start to my day!
i LOVE that i can come here and read positive things
and look at pretty pictures
and revel in the feeling of sisterhood and safety
cause this is one of my "safe spaces" and i give thanks for it.
so today i wanted to say thank you
to ericka for creating and birthing this lovely place
and to ALL OF YOU for being yourselves!
you make this such a lovely place to be!
and you all inspire me to always be my best self
and to be all of who i am!
this past saturday
i got exactly what i needed...
i started off my day by eating fruity pebbles and watchin G.I. Joe
then...
we drove into town for our nephew's first birthday party!
it was SO cool to see everybody!
i gave out business flyers to the sisters that were there
everybody was soundin positive about checkin out my wares and makin some purchases
i got to talk to a young sista in my field about her goals and such and about creative ways to get what she's going for...
i was able to discuss i.e. externally process and crystalize two different projects that i would like to work on.
the first of which would be in my field directly...
the second of which is an anthropological data collection/ lit review type thing that i'm thinking of pulling in a couplea friends on...
in other words...i'm feeling inspired
which was somethin i was desperately seeking
i ate the fried fish of LIFE
salad
fried plantain
rice
carrots
and this bangin punch!
followed by CHOCOLATE chocolate cake
and vanilla ice cream *eyes rolling back in head*
i mean it wasn't sex....
but it was GOOOOOOOOOOD
i was tryna imagine my life with all of the businesses that i'd like to own and all of the projects that i wanna do...
i wonder sometimes if i'mma have time to do 'em all!
generally right after that i'm excited that i have fun stuff lined up that just might last for the rest of my life.
but i digress...
i got another jewelry order...which is LOVELY!
i like special orders...they give me the opportunity to practice my craft at its best. knowing exactly who i'm making something for adds a certain something to the finished product...and making jewelry for people that i already know is also alot of fun for me... *sigh*
and what makes it even MO fresh is that the client placed the order because she saw a special order that i'd done for another client and she was like did YOU do that? and i was like yep! (truthfully it's been so long that i don't recall HOW i did it...but i did do it) and she wanted to know how much...then she went on and placed an order! WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO!
AND!
my eczema seems to be wantin to do something sane and sensible without 10 million applications of topical medicine
and then i danced for my man on the webcam to cheer him up when he said he was feeling down *smile*
on sunday...
i sat down and made a bubble chart with arrows about all of the businesses and projects that i'm either working on NOW or planning to work on...
it was pretty exciting! and i needed to get it all out of my head onto some paper so that i could SEE it....
after about a week of feeling totally and completely blocked...i now feel like the floodgates have opened and i'm doing my best to keep my head above water
and i am not MAD AT ALL!!!!
i'm just seeking to learn how to best work WITH the flow...
doses of positivity like this place right here are a part of my creativity maintenance toolkit!
