Wow ladies...you all are hard to keep up with! I have been so moved inspirationally and creatively by all of the wonderful posts here. So nevertheless I am finally catching up with you all:
The new year seems to be headed in the right direction mission wise. As a full time mom, wife, and artist, things can get really hard. I mean really hard. Managing time is often the essential when you help run a household and that is something that I am learning and acting on as the minutes pass. After talking with the hubby about it, he told me something that should have been obvious but it wasn't until he put in the way that he did.
He said: “You have to start enjoying the process of doing a task just as much as you enjoy the reward of what the process brings. Because in the end the reward is only icing on the cake, but the actual process is where the real wisdom & “reward” lies.” You know he is right. Like I mentioned before, I find myself rushing through the task so that I can have the feeling and reward of completion, yet by doing this I am not respecting my time to it''s fullest because I did not respect nor take advantage of the minutes that lead up to the reward of completion. Am I making sense here...It all seems so clear now. We must enjoy the moment in order to truly feel fulfilled and to truly grow. So, I just wanted to pass that along, because his words has helped me see things totally different now. Like when we are cleaning the house, if you are like me, you may rush so that it can all be done, yet what really should have been done is to enjoy the process and the things that come along with cleaning...such as its meditative states, the ideas that come popping up in your head, and the act of giving thanks for shelter and all of the material items that you have acquired as you move from room to room. The Process is your true reward...not the result. So now, my tagline of "Every Minute Counts" means so much more to me!
Okay moving right along, I am so excited to explore my mission of living everyday creatively as the days come. As you can see, I have been cooking. We are trying to maintain a home-made diet. The things that are in the stores are filled with so much sodium, preservatives, and sugar, and everything tastes so much better when you cook for self. Here are a few things that I have whipped up so far in the kitchen. Have you all tried making home-made pasta? It is wonderful...tastes much different from the store but equally good. I will be “In The Kitchen” soon and will post the recipes for it and the tomato soup and stuffed salmon. I have not started crafting as much as I like yet, but that time will come. Wishing you some sort of creativity thoughout your days, I am stoked to see so many crafty, creative, and poetic ladies here in the Circle...HOW ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! Yay for the Circle!

on point!
this advice is right on point! this is so true, and one of the first lessons i learned while trying to learn the art of meditation.
i find that instinctively i do enjoy the process of some of my daily task...baking and creating art is the first things that jump into my mind. and then cooking...and sometimes cleaning.
i've tried to explain to my husband many of times the reason i bake so much...it is meditative to me, purposeful yet still creative and indulgent. as i am working...baking creating...i find stillness and quiet, i often go deep into myself and my thoughts, looking for solutions and ideas to carry me back into reality. i have said so many times to him, when he ask...that it is about the process...and the finished product is just a part of it. i use baking as a means to work through creative blocks as an artist, insecurities and to find solutions and balance. the funny thing is, reading this helped me to connect the dots...baking is my meditation. cooking...and sometimes cleaning too.
now, i need to take this realization with me when i have to clean/cook/bake...and i am less in the mood for it...remind myself that it is about the process...and to always enjoy the process. though i don't think i ever don't enjoy baking/cooking...more so cleaning.
on another note...your meals look delicious! making my own pasta is definitely on my to-do list!
have a peaceful day!

Good stuff
Hi sis,
nice to e-meet you! Your blog was a wonderful introduction and those words have indeed given me a brand new perspective on my hectic life. It makes sense when you think about it; by virtue of who we are we're guaranteed the reward, the process is what prepares us to recieve it. Thanks for sharing
Time is too precious a currency to simply spend or waste; it must be invested.
great advice!
Wow sis! the food looks delish! You should know by now I'm a fan of your recipes! I've blogged about my versions of some of your dishes here http://breath-of-light.blogspot.com/
I think I will also heed you're husband's advice and start enjoying the process more. Bless!

I am!
I have updated my home management binder and it has given me new energy to make my home more beautiful and keep it organized and clean. It keeps me on track and it is a fun way to keep ontop of things.
I was always in a rush the funny thing is I had no where to go so there was no reason to rush at all! I would see everything as a chore and start things way to late like an hour before dinnertime I would start chopping veggies! Now I see all actions I do for the family and home as an act of love. From cleaning the bathroom to washing windows it's all love I want my family to be able to relax when taking a shower and to open the windows and see the sun shine happily in our rooms in the morning through clean windows. I started giving my eldest son cooking lessons and that has made me fall in love with cooking all over again. Teaching him the tips and tricks of cooking teaching wich flavors go well together and what things should never be separated in order to cook delicious and healthy meals. It is fun to pass on that knowledge and to see how he enjoys knowing these lil facts (he also loves the fact that his father can't cook and he can lol)
I look at my home with different eyes and I just love it now, it's small but cosy I want to make every corner stimulating and appealing to the eyes so I started making my own collages for the walls, and I am looking for frugal ideas to make our home more beautiful. I also want to start gardening more making not only my home a safe haven but also my poststamp garden LOL
YMIB really tought me to look at life and enjoy the beauty of it! I am so looking forward to exchanging more ideas with other sistrens around the globe and stimulating each other to appreciate life's beauty and enjoy God's breezes.
Sis I am especially looking forward to seeing some more of your crafts!
Blessings!
