It's funny how the new year brings about the feeling to refresh, to shed off bad habits as well as bad weight, and to begin a new page towards achieving the many goals that we would like to grasp and hold onto for life. Truth is that maintaining motivation and discipline may come easy to some, and may be one of the hardest things that you will face for others. I just wanted to take the time to say that whatever your goals are for the year, maintain your motivation to the best of your ability, maintain your creativity, maintain balance between your health, your spirit, and your physical shell, and never cease to pass up a day where you promise yourself to fill it up with thankfulness, creativity, and most of all inspiration.
We can all visualize how we want 2008 to look and we will never truly know what lies around the corner that may effect our paths, but just remember to take in the joy of the process and know that all of the things that you learn this year, whether seemingly good or bad, that each experience will provide growth for 2009 and for the future. All of our past present and future experiences cultivate growth.
So with that said, tell us what your goals are for 2008?, and we will do our part to help inspire your mission with relative articles and posts!
You Make It Beautiful,

In 2008 I will stand up for
In 2008 I will stand up for myself. I get so caught up in being so considerate of others that I find myself being or doing something that I know I don't believe in my heart. Sometimes I find myself not speaking up either. I don't usually say how I feel or what's on mind in order to "keep the peace". But is that really peace when you have to sit with the thought and feeing of I should have done this or said that.
Also this year I'm going to do some traveling. I'm getting my passport and I'm seeing the world and experiencing and learning new things.
And of course being a better wife and mother. Trying more creative and fun things with my family as often as I can.
And for me...use my talents. I already have a performance lined up two weeks from now to sing at the Apache Cafe. I've been rehearsing with a band all week. I also got 2 job offers and I want them both, that way I can get those art supplies I need, books, and a car.
Get it straight in '08!
Be Virtuous and Wise,
Shalom
2008 Will Bring Me...
At the top of my list for 2008 is to loose about 20-25 pounds. I am still carrying the extra weight from my pregnancy 4 years ago(I am going to have to deplete the experimental baking for a while)
I want to continue my journey into living each of my days creatively, and to maintain creativity within the home with not only myself, but with our little one and with my husband and family members & Circle Sisters.
To surround myself with beauty within the home
To remember birthdays and send out a home-made gifts and random letters to friends and family.
To plan ahead for the holiday festivities & decor & gifts
To eat a lot less desserts
To challenge my comfort zones
To excercise daily for at least 30 minutes
To read more & to fill lots of sketch books with ideas and projects that I would like to make/try.
To step up the home/un-schooling game with our 4 year old, and get super creative with his learning.
And last but definitely not least, to continue the journey of finding balancement and appreciation for the process of my daily rituals and routines that make up the basics of life(cleaning, rest, pampering, etc.) instead of seeing them as just a chore.
Happy 2008 Sisters...Looking forward to sharing and inspiring in any way I can with your goals as well as through mine!

2008
I have so many dreams wishes and hopes for 2008, from losing the last 8 pounds I need to loose, starting balletlessons, I pray that my eldest will feel at home when he starts as a freshman in his combined class gymnasium/atheneum, that my "baby" will enjoy pre-school, that dh and I can continue on this spiritual path that we have chosen and all of that with GOD's grace and blessing ofcourse :-)
There are a few things that I would love to talk to other sisters about one of them is clothing I would love to dress more womenly not half naked lol but more skirts and such. Suggestions, patterns or anything would be more than welcome!
I would also enjoy other sisters explaining how they honour the sabbath or sundays and how they plan housework around sabbath. Dh and I are starting sabbath for the first time tomorrow and I have no problems with not eating for long period of times I have fasted almost every sunday for the last 2 yrs and before that I fasted with my moslim uncle during ramadan, dh has never fasted so this will be chalenging to him. So please sisters share with me the do's and don't of sabbath. My cousin is bobo and he does not even turn on the light nor cook on sabbath but I have kids in the home and have no clue how to do that. Help is wanted and needed as you can tell.
To the makers of YMIB you have enriched my life in so many ways! I can't wait to see what wonderful and inspirational articles and blogs this new year will bring!
Blessings,

Warm Greetings from Illinois !!
I hope this post reaches you and family growing well together. My name is Pamela and by the grace of God I am still learning to keep and obey the Sabbath. In addition, I, like many others, welcome the seventh day rest, because it is Holy. I would like to continue by encouraging you to visit a couple of websites that teaches families how to honor the Sabbath in the comfort of your home. I'm also a grandmother of 4 and often times have little people around me 24/7. I slowly introduced them to the lifestyle change by annoucing daily sunsets from the first day of the week through the sixth day. During midweek, we would prepare a menu, specifically, for the Sabbath along with studying the ancestors. I set the pace for meal times and studying, which includes inspirational music and dancing or recitation and inspirational games. If they want to rearrange an activity, it's never a problem, as long as, it aligns with the focus of our day. Note: In the beginning, when someone refused to participate, they were separated from the family until they did. Being separate from the family includes total isolation, like quiet time alone in a separate room of the house, or being excluded during mealtime and allowed to eat alone, after everyone else is finished. (Tough love, but it works !!) However, before sunset on Friday, they are responsible for preparing their favorite dish in addition to completed chores. In doing so, we don't have a problem with lack of nourishment, and they are allowed social time before we rest from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. For example, we have fresh fruit or veggie salads, sandwiches or our favorite drinks, etc... we would return last minute calls, or play internet games and socially listening to the radio. Once the sunsets on Friday evening, anything that isn't applicable to the Sabbath is unacceptable. " WE REST from all of our WORK. " We don't receive social phone calls, unannounced guests or make last minute trips to the store. Now, they appreciate the Sabbath Day of Rest with understanding, and we know why this day is important !! Finally, here are the list of sites.
