Congratulations to Circle Sister Indigo Kiss! You are the winner of a free copy of "Sacred Woman" by Queen Afua!
She Wrote: LIVE LOVE LAUGH BECAUSE WE ARE SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL: Being a Sacred Woman to me means being able to overcome the obstcles in my life, and being able to leave excess baggage in the lost and found, with no need to reclaim it.and to be able to totaly dwell in the womans trinity ( The Mind, The Body,The Spirit) I am blessed to be a sister here.I need this in my life.
Congrats and see you all in the Sacred Woman Book Circle starting February 1st in the Forums!
I would like to introduce you to a new theme that will be gracing ymib entitled “Sisters Inspiring Each Other”(S.I.E.O). Throughout the year we will have events that connect the circle of sisters here even more with a mission to grow in all aspects of our lives as women, mothers, wives, and sisters.
This was inspired by something I used to do with close family and friends in which I called "Women Inspiring Each Other" where we would each by a journal, write and inspire within them, then mail them to each other to write in for a few weeks, and in the end we woud mail our original journals back to each other. You end up with a wonderful keepsake, so I thought I would extend the tone of this into something even bigger with the sisters here on ymib!
First, we are starting off 2008 with our first official book circle! Throughout the year we will indulge and grow from books that feed our holistic, empowerment, and creative growth. There will be a total of 4 books that we will be exploring this year and the first just seems fitting for bringing in the new year: Quen Afuas “Sacred Woman”! The first book circle will begin on February 1st through April 11th, so be sure to purchase your books now so that you can be ready on the 1st. Even if you have already raead the sacred Woman, it would still be great to have both those that ae familiar with it as well as those who are not to begin the journey! We will meet up here in a special forum that will be exclusively for discussing and sharing our experiences we encounter during the Sisters Inspiring Each Other Events. Events will range from topics of motivation, empowerment, creativity, holistics, and much much more! We are so excited to be apart of this venture with the Circle and we hope to see many of you join in on the events to come.

Ani Sacred ( I am Sacred)
I am sacred because I was made that way. From the time of my birth I was made holy. I am holy because the Maker of all things is Holy and we were made in the image of The Most High. I am pure, I am Holy. I am undoubtedly Sacred. My mind, my body, my soul, thoughts, prayers are all on a mission to be what I was placed here for. To be a shining light to the nations and i can only do that in the state of holiness. Its a daily fight trying to stay on the righteous path but with the Most High on my mind and in my heart continually its not too hard. Stumbling blocks are always put before us and we do fall but we have the ability to get up, dust ourselves off and ask Father for the strenght to keep going.
Oh yes I am Sacred and so are you.
Love

Building my altar...........
I live in a two bedroom apartment. I don't have an extra bedroom or walk-in closet even to create my prayer/meditation room. I have lots of space, but it's communal. Would it be okay to create one in my bedroom? I'm single and was thinking this would be okay. Second, when Queen Afua speaks of the pictures of ancestor, elder, contemporary, and spiritual guardian - Should these individuals be members of your family? Lastly, I'm struggling with the annunciation of the Ancient Khamitic Nubian Spiritual Energies - does anyone have any suggestions?
Peace be multiplied!

I got it =)
I am so excited I got my book yesterday! I stayed up all night reading. I can't wait to get off today so that I can read more. I'm looking forward to reading it and discussing it with every one else.

I AM a sacred woman! Sacred
I AM a sacred woman! Sacred in every aspect. From the strides in my hips, to the widsom from my lips; from the power of my intuition to the Jah-ness of my womb! I am mother, I am sister, I am daughter, I am create-ress, I am a Goddess! Through my very existence my sacredness is pronounced. I find my sacredness is in my pain, my laughter, and running through my veins. I need not seek or create sacredness. It is my inherent birthright. All I have to do is wake up each day and breathe into my sacredness, acknowledging it, allowing it and standing out of its way. When I am loving, when I am comforting, when I am loving, when I am silent, when I am crying, I am sacred. Women enhance their sacredness in unity; by honoring and praising each other's beauty and grace. When we look each other in the eyes and through the windows of our soul and say.... your sacredness is mine and my sacredness is yours...then the light of our sacred flame shines brighter for others to find their way!!!
Sensually yours,
The Sexual Griot!
Excited to be apart of this journey
I am so happy to have been introduced to YMIB and very anxious to start the journey of exploration of self through the reading of Sacred Woman. I purchased the book a few days ago and read the preface of the book and at first I wanted to put it down because it seemed so foreign to me based on all the knowledge that I've been taught all throughout my life.
I became angry because I felt that I was so oblivious to anything about my culture, my ancestral history and that I've been cheated and brainwashed by others feeding me knowledge of information that has nothing to really do about my history. I started writing in my journal and expressing all my feelings and I then was led back to read the book which I came accross a statement that stated"its time to reclaim myself and create in me a divine being". Which then I became to understand why I was introduced to this wonderful circle, why I purchased the "Sacred Woman", why I am at this place of feeling that I need to learn the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth about ME and all aspects and connections to me. So with that said, I am so anxious to start this journey and to meet other individuals that are also seeking after the truth about self.
Another statement that was made in the book was that" we can not become whole until we understand the wisdom of those whose shoulders we stand" WOW, this is why for so long I've been struggling with all the religious knowledge that I've been taught and I've constantly been searching and praying for GOD to show me the truth and to enlghten me and this year on 1/2/08, I believe that GOD answered my prayer by introducing me to YMIB.
I am looking forward to the journey!!!
God Bless ALL!!!

Warm Greeting Sistahs' from Illinois !!
First, I'd like to say over the years I have misunderstood my body and how to care for it properly. Now, my focus is being "Sacred" because I know that time brings about wisdom, and I am seeking. I think of this opportunity as a privilege, and I am looking forward to growing with each of you daily while sharing inspiration with others far beyond 2008.
I am inspired and honored to be within the sistah circle of becoming a Sacred Woman !!
