Many times we may find ourselves evaluating our lives on a daily basis, asking ourselves: “will I ever achieve my dreams?”, “will I ever maintain a proper schedule to meet my goals?”, “will I ever have enough energy?”. I know that I ask myself these questions more than often and most of the time I end up with the same answer: “yes, you will achieve these things only if you decide to discipline yourself enough to do it...how bad do you really want it?”
I think it is safe to say that each and every one of us here have dreams and goals set in front of us that we would like to achieve, yet many times we just find ourselves in repeat mode and not getting many of them done. I think this happens because of the following factors:
Energy Levels
Health
Fear
Doubt
Unorganized
No Clear Direction
No Proper Support of Those Around You
Not Enough Visualizing
I honestly think that the factors above effect our dreams to the fullest and if one is not balanced it will throw off the next. Out of all of these dream factors I think that visualization is the most important. If you properly visualize who and where you want to be, then you will have a better direction as to how to get there. But this does not just mean spending your time daydreaming quietly in your own abode. Proper visualization also requires some “Out Loud” exercises. To achieve maximum results from visualizing your life you should try doing the following things:
Keep a visualization journal: Whether it be a new home, a new career, or a new body. Visually journaling your dreams can not only be lots of fun, but it can be a really amazing tool in bringing your dreams to life. It also helps keep you focused and on track as to what the goal is and what it looks like. My favorite way of visualization journaling is to use cut outs from magazines. Whether it be words, colors, or pictures, cut and paste your dreams into existence!
Surround yourself with people and things that represent your dreams: Too many of us have magnificent goals, yet too many us us keep people that are not even trying to help us achieve them around us. You know the saying “you are what you eat”, this also goes for “you are the company that you keep”. If you want to be a fashion designer or mogul, surround yourself with people who carry a passion for fashion. If you want to be healthier or become a holistic instructor, surround yourself with people who are not just trying to meet the same goal, but also with people who have surpassed that goal...someone you can learn from as well as those you can learn with!
Blog: Yes. You read it right. The art of blogging is powerful when it comes to achieving a goal. One of the biggest tools we can utilize when it comes to achieving our dreams is not just the power of thought, but the power of the spoken word. Talking to others about your dreams and logging on daily/weekly/monthly to give updates can effect your levels of success tremendously. There is just something about knowing that when others know your goals, you tend to discipline yourself a bit more to do them, because it is not just you who knows your dreams now. Blog about those that inspire your goals and do not be afraid to virtually journal your goals.
Maintain a schedule: It is really important to maintain a schedule so that you are not all over the place. When I compose my schedules I simply write doen all of my daily, weekly, and monthly responsibilities as well as my goals. I then disperse them out within days and time slots that are REALISTIC to my life pattern. Your “Life Patter” is simply the pattern in which you find that you tend to do things regardless of a schedule. If you notice that you have more energy mid-day, then you may want to exercise then, or do something that requires lots of energy instead of scheduling exercising later or early that day.
Exercise: Somewhere in the midst you must fit in exercising, even if it is just 20-30 minutes. Having the proper health to maintain yourself is crucial in obtaining your dreams. Exercising along with a healthy diet that's right for you will give you the energy that you need to maintain through those late nights of working towards your dreams!
Never Give Up!: No matter what, no matter how hard it gets, and no matter haw many times you seem to “start over”, never give up. Live your life knowing that you spent every minute of it working towards your passions. There is nothing worse than getting to the end of the road an knowing that you did not give your dreams your best. Trust me, your spirit will thank you for it in the end!
Thanks so much!

THanks !!!
Thanks for this post. Lately, I have been feeling a bit directionless. Static. I have a very important exam to take but I cannot find the motivation to invest the proper time and energy into it. The guilt is like a burden. While reading the post there were so many things that resonated with me! so many things I have been doing wrong or neglecting! I have definitely been inspired by this post. Thanks you.
Peace.
Kim

I'm So There
I was just laid off and I only experienced a tiny tiny bit of worry about becoming another statistic. I was over joyed with the fact that I now have all this time to develop my ideas, complete some of my goals, and work on my overall well being. I have now been off for about a week, attending school full time at SFSU, and havnt done nothin. Now I am at this point and these words are going on my "Keep it Real" board. Thank you so much!
Food for the spirit
Posts of this nature keep me coming back like hungry jack!
Thank you.
Thanks!
You just don't know how right on time this article is, I was literally in tears on Sunday night, couldn't sleep. This article has hit the spot and I feel encouraged by it. I don't quite know what I want to do yet but I know I want to or rather need to do something other than what I've been doing.
Love it
Thank you so much for sharing this. These are things that I already know but this article defintely served as a reminder to get back focused on my goals. Sometimes we can get caught up in the everyday hustle and start to feel like we are running on a treadmill instead of making mileage. Reading little reminders like this helps us to stay on track and keep going! Thank you!!!!!
Made my day :-)
This post really helped me put some things in perspective. Lately, I've been thing a lot about my dreams and how I'm unable be as creative as I'd like to be when things in my life are unbalanced. These examples of how to redirect my energies will help in the long run. Thanks again for the words of wisdom.
Thank you Sistar
for that information. I am definitely in that place of manifestation and this helps to direct me.
