It's no secret that I love east Indian cuisine, so when I ran across Manjulas Kitchen, I was so excited and began cooking her recipes immediately and had to share it. I started off with the Channa Masala and added a bit of a twist by ladling fresh lentils on top in place of the rice, because sometimes the rice can just get really heavy. However if you do serve yours with rice, then I suggest Basmati or Jasmine. If you live near an Indian market or Grocer then please by all means purchase your ingredients from there as they are most likely a lot more authentic in taste in comparison to mainstream markets. The Channa Masala is basically a spiced stew with chick peas and it is very flavorful and rather healthy when you look over all of the ingredients.
So while I was excited to make the Channa Masala recipe I was even more stoked to share this recipe she has for homemade Naan! I have been searching for a good Naan/flatbread recipe for years and I think I will be sticking with this one for a while. I do suggest you purchase a pizza stone to get maximum results. I followed Manjula step by step in the kitchen and I highly recommend her recipes. Her website is filled with recipes that are demonstarted on you tube, from chutneys, to appetizers, and even Indian desserts. Serve your Naan hot with a side of honey or cilantro or mango chutney...aaah how divine! Enjoy!

Oh yes Channa Masala is a great dish. Tastes best with puris. A dry channa masala with only spices and a little gravy is also great.
Great post!
