No Less Than a Woman

I contemplated very hard before posting this, only because the singer of this song "Lady Saw" is very raw and I was not sure if I wanted to support her whole ambiance, but I looked past all of that because this song says a lot and I feel that it is more than positive in comparison to some of her other songs. Lady Saw, who holds the title of "Dancehall Queen" wrote this song after experiencing two miscarriages. I wanted to post this because this song/video sums up exactly how I would like to respond to to Circle Sisters Iyatahs Miscarriage Post. I think this song is unique and important because there are a lot of women out there who have experienced the loss of a child or may not be able to conceive. Lady Saw sings here about the women who cannot have children, the women who have them but treat them badly, and the women who do not want children at all. I would like to dedicate this song to all of the Sisters out there who are experiencing infertility, miscarriages, and difficult pregnancies. Many times some mothers with children may not understand the pain of your loss, but know that you are no less than a woman. Should the universe not fertilize within you your own biological seed, reflect back to that love that you carried to give to that child that you secured in your womb and remember that you have the same amount of love within you that you can give to a child who may need it. Whether it's through adoption or mentoring a child in your community, you can still be pro-creative. Just remember to create and share that love and know that you are no less than a woman!

Have any of you dealt with a miscarriage, a loss of a child, or infertility...how did you get through it?
