Mama Tips 1-2-3: Plan, Dream, Play!

1. Cooking Ideas: A great idea to keep your ideas flowing in the kitchen is to collect menus from some of your favorite restaurants and keep them in a 3 ring binder. No this is not to order take-out, but it offers up a great way to come up with meal ideas. I use to-go menus all the time to come up with our meals. Best of all, you can get a similar if not the same taste for half the price.

2. Little Tots Sketch Book: Invest a few bucks in your kids imagination by getting them their very own sketch book. Let hem flip through educational and fun magazines that are for their age group and let them have at it with cutting out pictures and words that they like and gluing them to the pages. You can also let them draw and doodle in them too. This is a great tool to develop their imagination and artistic development. You can do this with kids as young as 3 years old (just be sure to use the kid-friendly scissors!) It is super fun to do along with them as you do yours, and quite interesting to see what catches their attention.(my little one even enjoyed cutting things he “wanted” for his room from the pottery barn kids catalog...go figure! LOL

3. Playtime: A fun way to keep the tots excited about playtime is to play bowling with them by using plastic or paper cups and bouncy balls. This little game does not take up much room. All you need is a hallway or a small open space. They will love it an while it is a great use of playtime, it also helps them grow their hand-eye coordination. Plus you can keep score of how many cups gets knocked over by each player and practice math and counting by adding up the score.
