Father Figures Are Important: Single moms are amazing, they do it all and then some, and I could not imagine having to handle so many responsibilities in one given day. However, regardless of the contrary, POSITIVE male figures are important in our girls lives. Be aware of your surroundings and aways uplift positive male figures within your home and family. Even if you have to go out and buy some books on positive Nubian men, then do it! Have them read it! It is crucial that our girls know that many of our men are good, and that they have done and will do powerful things. Don't push any hate/disgruntle of our men onto their souls!

Wisdom Creates Wisdom: Elders are essential to growth, as they teach us how to grow. Get her involved in something that keeps her related and bonded to the "wise" in age. Take some baked goods/fruits to your local nursing homes, hospitals, and retirement centers. Have her interview an elderly person, teach her to take care of those that offer wisdom and she will offer it back to her world!

Nature Is Natural: Mother-Nature...it lies within, so teach it to her. From nature walks to gardening, there is always something good that comes out of connecting with nature.

Sisterhood: Womanhood: Never Take It For Granted: From our recent poll out of 136 women, with 44% saying that they only have a few sister friends and 37% saying they they would love to have sister friends but find it hard to find like minds, I think it is safe to say that when a sister-bond is found, that it should never be taken for granted! With that said. Teach your daughter about the jewels of positive true sisterhood, friendship, and the celebration of her blossoming womanhood. Teach her not to be afraid of entering into friendships, but at the same time make her aware that every woman she meets may not mean the best for her growth. Show her what true sisterhood is by being a good Sister within the wold and within your sister circles!
