Am I the only one who wishes more of our sisters on myspace would update there profile and become more active on YMIB? I'm a late-bloomer/newcomer myself so I didn't realize how Awesome it was, but NOW...fagettaboutit, this is the sh**! I know we are all really busy, but we gotta invest a little time in this too, Goddesses this is "Our Thang".
Recently I deleted my main myspace page because I felt uninspired, bored and annoyd by the thing. It is great for introducing new people and reuniting friends but it's become a liitle stale for me. I feel like it's a job or an event that I have to just show my face at, lol. I guess I just needed something more creative and intimate to stimulate my interest again. So I am reinventing myself here and keeping a small "apartment" on myspace for my art & such.
While I appreciated the 5000+ people who took interest in my work and my reasonings I just need more. This circle is more me, and I wish more of us would get on board so we could make it even more Beautiful than it is. I'm looking forward to meeting, inspiring, sharing, networking and all that good stuff! If you are on myspace, promote "YMIB, OUR SPACE" as much as you can so we can get down to business and become even more BEAUTIFUL. I Give Thanks for everyone who helped to create this magazine and all of the sisters who are here and on the way! This is home :)

I made a myspace page in
I made a myspace page in 2004 for poems and writing, remembered I had it last month while myspacing, had the urge to go do some fancy work on it and start adding people, then I got bored and asked myself why? Since I could not come up with an answer, I left it that way. someday soon..maybe.
Unless something really active comes from anything, I am not really inspired to do anything and I get bored just yapping about myself(sometimes). Myspace is good for networking maybe....will use to show some art work and some writing maybe..someday...
As far as the writing, I find myspace has the ability to trap into an egotistic trend of yapping and self appraisal. In this day and age, actions more than words and trends are needed to change the world.
Oh yes...some art and creativity goes a long way too, but Art will thrive where there is no balance.
Say It!
I so agree with you. This is a wonderful place. The energy here is something that I can't really explain, but I must admit I'm having a hard time learning how to network and build on this site. I WANT to. I read the profiles and the blogs of so many inspirational women who I want to connect with, but I'm not sure how to stop feeling like an observer and become a part of the community.
Very true.
I Am on myspace just about everyday, but I wouldnt say that it taught me anything or inspires me . I use it stricly to k.i.t. with people who have moved away. But, his site spaeks to me. The stories help me in so many diff ways. So yes sometimes you do need more. ATTITUDE GYAL
my 2 cents
even though i am an avid myspace user, because it affords me visibility for my natural hair thing, I truly enjoy coming to ymib. Everytime i sign on i feel a sense of warmth and I am so glad that this site was created for us.
I tried some new recipes and I've met some cool sisters. I really love it here.
I agree with you.....
I have a myspace profile and I'm feeling you when you say your uninspired with it and bored. It has no substance and I'v been thinking about deleting my profile for sometime now.I love ymib because it has so much to offer.I love the articles, the blogs, and the inspiration from so many cool sisters that take time to share.
The vibe here is awesome!!

Nope, not just you
I have been feeling the SAME thing. I've actually been meanting to start posting some uplifting blogs here. I tend to visit everyone else's profiles and gobble up knowledge and inspiration from others. I figure the least I could do if offer some jewels of my own. This site is a haven for me as well. I come here often just to browse and take in the good vibes.
Bless!
Truth Personified.......
I don't go to the space as much as I use to, and have about four or five pages of friends request awaiting approval as a result(sad to say). I'm having more fun on here building a strong sistren network. I truly enjoy reading the blogs, and bites from the infamous to the famous. I come here to lift my spirits, and to be inspired. I would like to jazz my profile up a little more, but just need time to figure out how to do a couple things. So bare with me:)
LOVE MY YMIB SISTREN TO THE FULLEST MEASURE!!
Nope
YMIB is the place. I have finally had a chance to settle down and come visit today. I have been on here for a couple of hours today. Revamping my profile and trying to connect with "friends", added a music playlist (so much FUN!), entering contest. YMIB is definitely my peaceful haven after a busy week. I enjoy reading about other sistas and all the nuturing, inspiriational dialogue.
Bringing the majority of us together for something just for us can be a challenge. However, with the energy and inspiration here, the ones that need to be here will come. I will continue to spread the word, and I will continue to be active.
Cheers, got to go and visit some more profiles.
