Deep, rich tones like Brown can help make your interior feel more earthy and wholesome.
Fall is officially in full swing and what color harmonizes with the changing shades of the leaves, pumpkins, and warm coffee drinks like brown. If you're looking for a deeper, more sophisticated shade you can try brown's cousin, the sexy and seductive chocolate. For a slightly lighter tone you can try sepia or russet. Either way, adding a little brown to your home this season is a great way for you to calm your senses before entering the hectic holiday season.

Design tip: When designing a room with a brown backdrop, try using a neutral color palette for your decorative items. Colors like yellow, gold, cream, or even a pale gray or sage.
If you don't have the time or money to paint or add wallpaper, browse your local thrift store for a new wood side table, re-upholster your cushions with a new brown fabric, buy a nice, cozy new throw or rug. If you're the crafty type, collect fall leaves and place them in shadow boxes - that's also a great project for kids.
Whatever you decide to do, remember that brown is a natural, very relatable color. Most visitors to your home will feel welcomed and comfortable with a little brown around.
designing space
we are moving into a new space that i am very excited to decorate. each room will have a theme and its all about creating a "sacred sanctuary". i've been watching alot of home design shows for inspiration and the lack of non white designers is ridiculous. either way, im glad you are here!

Gotta Love The Brown
Our bedroom walls ae painted in a deep/dark chocolate brown, and I love it. At first we thought it was going to be terribly dark, but we warmed it up with a rust/reddish lamp shade over our table lamps that bounced off the brown, and it feels so cozy and warm...not dark at all. This is a great post...I heart decor! (and that green chair in the bottom left corner is charming!)
