Set in the city of Chicago , The Epitome of Femistry Series written by Jessica N. Watkins is your literary drama-filled sexy sitcom. Follow the lives of Lyric, Tricey, and Victoria as they travel the Windy City and encounter the road blocks that we can all relate to. Told in the first person narrative from the perceptive of three street smart, sassy, and ambitious women, Jane Doe, Thou Shall Not Keep Me Wondering, and Just… thrusts the reader into the heart broken and dishonored, yet humorous and heartfelt world of Lyric, Tricey, and Victoria.
Jane Doe is a heart wrenching reflection of life through the eyes of the urban teenager. Set in the in the year 1996, Lyric Caldwell, Latrice Anderson, and Victoria Renee Brown allow you into their adolescent world of fitting in, insecurity, boys, heart break, and love. Entering their first year of high school at Kraton High in Chicago’s Kenwood neighborhood, Hyde Park, Lyric, Latrice, and Victoria find themselves battling with common factors of the urban environment; teenage pregnancy, single-parent homes, drugs, and teenage sex. Commonly compared to the literary hit The Coldest Winter Ever and geared toward the urban teenager but attention seeking enough for any adult, Jane Doe illustrates the rebellious teenager living ghetto fabulous with consequence and highlights the hero that is not always an adult, righteous, or triumphant.
Jane Doe reaches out to that insecure, yearning urban young woman and shows her the consequences of what happens when they refuse to look beyond the small window of sex, drugs, and boys.
Fast forward four years and Thou Shall Not Keep Me Wondering will provide you a tale of the loss of loyalty. When Victoria finally finds the love that her life has been searching for, she is forced to choose between love and a life long commitment she made eight years ago. As she battles with this decision, Lyric and Tricey, who are on a quest for love and freedom, are learning that new lives only bring new drama.
Now its 2007 and the past years of demise, dishonor, and heartache have molded these rough and naïve teenage girls into independent, sovereign, and self-sufficient adults who are sexy, ambitious, and ready for what life will bring…seemingly. In the third part of this series, Just…, Latrice seeks out only those that can materialistically love her until her heart says otherwise. From the side lines Lyric is hiding her own scandalous laundry and trying to determine not who she loves, but whether the kind of love she is experiencing will be accepted by her friends and family. Meanwhile Victoria is miles away from her rekindled friendship with Latrice and still damaged sisterhood with Lyric trying to figure out why the sex life between her and live-in boyfriend/”baby's daddy” has come to an undeniable jolting end.
The Epitome of Femistry Series starts off as the typical boy meets girl/boy plays girl games but quickly turns into a contagious and erotic cycle of suspense, humor, sex, lies, infidelity, and deceit all bundled up in an entertaining package of sexy diva deliciousness! These fast paced, well plotted, and entertaining chronicles never give readers the typical Hollywood ending and are a must read for literary fans who desire realism over unrelated fiction.
