I think a great way for us to share and learn from each other as homeschoolers is to share what we do daily. Also, some families are considering homeschooling but have a hard time visualizing what it will or should be like.
Us jotting a few lines about what we did today in homeschool will help create a more realistic view for non-homeschooling families. It will also relieve some isolation of feeling alone that many homeschoolers get from lack of support and communication with other homeschoolers.
So, I'll start!
Today in homeschool, we are working on a lesson about building a website. My son especially will be learning some basic html and design. He will be doing some writing and math later.
My daughter is going to put together a puzzle of Canada to learn the provinces and to stimulate her problem solving skills. She'll also be doing some letter writing later.
I'm really excited to find out what all my homeschooling Sistahs are doing!
Educational video about trees
The kids and I watched a video on trees. It has good information in it.

Movies As Lessons & Book Reports
Today's lessons will consist of discussions ,quizzes & book reports.Sat night we watched the Movie National Treasures pt.2 and for the past couple of afternoons we have been watching the movies www.zeitgeistmovie.com and The Illuminati http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8394844811105390386&q=Jordan+Max... I will be giving a discussion in those as well as a open book /movie quiz.Later on we will read two of the books we got from the library for the summer reading club and the royal court will do two book reports each. They will also spend some time doing math on the computer with one of the many programs they have. Peace, Indigo
Arts & Crafts
Fri&Sat were big Arts & Crafts Days since were decided to make our gifts for Father's Day this year. The royal court made all types of stuff. That's what I call my children sometimes.Anyway my princess 10 year old sketched a portrait of the king (dad) and put it in a frame,My 7 year old prince made the king a kite (we'll see if it will fly) 8 yr princess sculpted a cylinder shaped vase she calls the abundance jar for his loose change and everyone Else made beautiful cards. I was really proud to see what they came up with, but my 8yr old taking the name from her law of attraction class and naming her vase after it really let me know how much they enjoyed that class and how they really retained the information. Peace, Indigo

Swahili Lessons
The past couple of days we have been practicing Swahili. I stumbled on a website that as free software with flash cards.
It's been fun for the kids and me and it also stimulates our memory skills since we have to test what we know after we have learned all the words.
There's many more laguages available on the site too. Here's the link:

Will post soon!
My Princess will begin homeschooling full time again beginning June 4 as I have only four days left on the plantation! YIPEE!!
Sis. Indigorutz, that's a wonderful lesson your youth are doing on the Law of Attraction. My daughter is almost 5 but I remember watching "The Secret" DVD and hearing one of the teachers saying that using a "Vision Board" is a good way to teach the law of attration to children. Thanks for reminding me.
Peace & Power!

Great Idea!
That's a great idea!Since today most people are off celebrating the"holiday" I decided to give the children a lesson on the law of attraction. This is the basic outline Step One:Creating a Contrast and Clarity list Step Two:Make a Desire statement(to raise their vibration) Step Three:Make an allowing statement Step Four:since they are children instead of keeping and abundance awareness journal they are making abundance collages.Later on a lesson on Ancestor Reverence. My children play chess to enhance their analytical skills,so we will have a chess game sometime this afternoon, unless they decide on the math quiz bowel. So far it looks like chess will prevail. Right now they are busy cutting and pasting those collages,so it's given me time to right this, throw a load in the washer and just sit back and watch them get so excited about knowing they can actually attract things into their lives. It's amazing to see what kid truly desire. Tomorrow back to reading, writing, math the reg. Peace, Indigo
