I think of piercings as a way to adorn the body. However, it can also be a reflection of a particular culture, like tribal tattoos. What I love about piercings is that they don't have to be permanent.

Adorning The Body

Adorning the body with piercings ,tattoos ,jewelry etc.Can be a beautiful representation of oneself.If the piercings are many they should be maintained to the highest degree.There is nothing more unattractive then seeing someone with 5 or 6 wholes in the ear and one or two cheap earrings (that are fading ) dangling about and a bunch of empty holes or wholes with huge keloids behind them from in proper care,poor hygiene.If you have nose piercings keep them adorned with an nose ring.Unless of course there is some medical reason for them being empty.I just feel if your going to have piercings they must be maintained.As far as piercings of the labia,clitoris or anywhere in or around yoni I simply don't understand the need for it.For me,I feel it is unnecessary and in some way a violation or mutilation.If one must have one down there buy a clip on.In some instances it can be culture,but in todays world I'm seeing it more of a on & off ,on again fad.The true culture or spiritually piercings you see  will almost never lack beauty or maintenance. I have (and have had) plenty of piercings. It can be about cultural expression, however in this modern time and place it is more important (at least to me) to be more about self expression (which can be dedicated to the cultural aspect of your particular heritage). I have 12 tattoos and more to come. Some express me, some my family, and some of my spiritual growth. If you feel it, express it in the way YOU see fitting YOU. Best Wishes 2U.

i am a fan of piercing, I have my ears and my navel (for 14 years). I am awaiting divine time to re-pierce my nostril.Like all forms of self expression beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but most if not all folks who pierce for their own enjoyment exude a certain confidence and beauty.

It's your body, you treat it the way you like. The body is a temple, some people see this, others don't. Yet, no one can tell you how you should express yourself, via piercings, natural hair, tattoos etc. If what you do to yourself, is not hurting anyone else, go for it. People pierce for different reasons, who am I to ask why? It is a form of expression...adorn yourself the way you like!! I can not judge!
