Materials needed:
2 tablespoon gum tragacanth---this ignites the incense
1 tablespoon gum benzoin
1 tablespoon charcoal--buy the capsules and open them up or buy
incense charcoal and powder it yourself--charcoal keeps it burning
1 teaspoon potassium nitrate (also called saltpeter)
1 teaspoon essential oils-can mix if you like-your choice
4 tablespoons water
Directions:
Mix all the ingredients together, add essential oils and enough water to make a paste. Form your paste into small cones or wrap a lavender twig with the paste, or you can use a small stick. Set aside to dry for a few days on a piece of wax paper. Once dry, you can try wrapping them in fabric with raffia, or putting them in a nice closed container, or include them in a gift basket to your friends!
