A great way that is currently inspiring me to cook creatively is to keep a cooking/recipe journal that I fill with pretty pics of soups, teas, entrees, sweet treats, and entertaining & place setting ideas. I just grabbed a 3 ring binder with the clear pocket on the front and back and then did a collage to go in them as well as on the sides. Then I just used dividers to separate my categories(beverages, entrees, desserts, products, etc.) This has really inspired me to get crafty in the kitchen. I use it the same way that I do with a regular sketch book. It's a great and unique way to keep your recipes and flip through them.

I am starting a recipe journal today!
Starting monday (have a b-day party for my niece tomorrow and I know she will want me to eat some of her cake ;-) ) I am elimanating fish and animal byproducts from my diet. This week I tried to eat fish and it made me queasy I think it's because of the cold but I am grateful for it because I was unable to kick the fish habit on my own.
All my cookbooks have recipes with animal byproducts or meat/poultry/fish so I am going to print some nice vegan recipes starting with the vegan cupcakes hmmmm As soon as my mind calms down a bit I will change the favorite familiy recipes and veganize them. I love sister Quejimenez her blog she makes such wonderful vegan food I thank her for giving me the insight that vegan food does not have to be salad and greens only. I am also slowly going to try and incorporate some soyproducts back in our diet. I got real sick by it last time because of an g6pd deficiency but before that time I never had any problems with it. So I probably overdid eating soyproducts I had soy for every meal! Breakfast coffee with soymilk, lunch soypate with toast, dinner soycheese pizza's a bit too much even for someone without the deficiency I think. I will now keep it to a minimum of 1 or 2 meals per week. Instead of soymilk I will drink almond or ricemilk.
Thanks for this post! Keep the delicious vegan meals coming I will post a few of mine as well.
Blessings,
Chayil

What a coincidence that I
What a coincidence that I came across this message today because I just thought about starting a recipe journal. I am so bored with the current meals that I've been preparing for the past 15+ years. So anymore that you will like to share, please do.
Thank you for your inspiration.

such a great idea!!
i love this idea. i mean, i'm not much of a cook. like, not at all. but i love looking images of pretty food which explains why i have a kazillion cookbooks and can never think of anything to eat. ;) maybe this will inspire me to cook more than my kazillion cookbooks.
