Sisterlocks for Life!!!

Fola Afua
Greetings Sister,

I know that may sound a little fanatical, but I have been sporting my Sisterlocks for almost 5 years. And I LOVE them! I too, was a SLAVE as I refer to it for many years. Many times, I had freed myself from the bondage of the perm (pls. forgive me sistahs who still have perms...I mean no disrepect). However for me, it was BONDAGE! When I finally decided to make that commitment, I was so glad that I did. I never looked back in regret. It also helped me to accept and love me.

I would encourage you to visit the website at Sisterlock.com and view the gallery. I am there and you can see the transformation form my first year to my 4 th year. When Dr. Joanne Cornwell states that is more than a hairstyle, it's a lifestyle (my own words); she is so right. I enjoy the versatility of how you can wear your hear. Truly I'm not say that traditional lock cannot be 'styled' in various ways....but many have said that it is easier with Sisterlocks.

As far as having to have your hair 'retightened', with any handling of black hair there is some sort of commitment in the maintenance of our hair, even if it is left in a natural state. Although, I understand that there is a financial commitment as well. Be encouraged and make the right choice for YOU!

Peace & Blessings,
Fola

Welcome To The Circle Lovely Lady!

Welcome Boho Art Chic! Hoping you find lots of inspirational goodness with each visit to the Circle. I consider myself to be a semi-vegiterian as well...my family and I do NOT eat pork, chicken, turkey, or beef, but we DO eat seafood. I find it to be a good balance, especially when you first make the transistion. Oh yeah & I love all of the same magazines as well! Ok, take care, talk soon, and I hope you have a wonderful day!
