Bento Boxes

Hello ladies,

I've noticed that alot of my fellow sisters here are vegetarian or vegan. I must admit that I am a meat eater. I don't eat a lot of meat but nonetheless I do eat it. Now that summer is fast approaching I tend not to eat any meat and tend to consume a lot more fish, fruits, vegetables and grains because they're lighter, faster and easier to cook during the hot weather. I broke out my Bento boxes this past weekend and thought of you ladies.

Bento boxes are small, traditional Japanese lunch boxes. You can get a lot in a bento box such as rice balls, a variety of vegetables (i.e. spicy miso asparagus), fish rolls, fruit, etc. Depending on the type of day that I may have ahead of me I will carry 3 or 4 of these boxes with me. They're small meals that are packed with nutrition, vitamins, flavor and goodness.

WWE Politics

This political race thus far disgusts me. You have Clinton and Obama acting like WWE wrestlers rather than presidential candidates. Wait, it seems that one of the prerequisite of being a presidential candidate is to act like a WWE wrestler. Instead of focusing on the issues at hand and that are most important to the people as a whole, they've decided to trade insults and belittle one another as much as possible. Have we've forgotten what happened when Bush and Gore were up against one another?

Clearly the politicians which make up our antiquated, poorly structured and defective government have forgotten that they work for us the people not the other way around. But over the years this important point has been lost.

If Clinton and Obama don't get back on track they'll both look up and realize they've lost the race and the nation will be looking at McCain as the 44th president of the United States.

Instant Gratification

A customer walks into a well known store and takes a look at the variety of bed linen on offer. The customer asks the sales associate if he can get the king size sheet set in the linen he's selected. The sales associate tells him yes and goes on to explain that the company recently changed it's policy regarding the housing of it's bed linen. Meaning that customer may purchase the linen at the store but the linen is actually shipped out of the company's main warehouse (located in Chicago) directly to the customer for free and that the customer would receive it in two days time. The customer then states that, that wasn't good enough because he wanted to take the linen home that day.

I've noticed this type of behavior more and more whether I'm at the grocery store, post office or even the doctor's office. When did we get to the point where we demand instant gratification in just about every aspect of our lives? Why do we think that a company's policies don't apply to us and that we somehow deserve spacial treatment? Why can't we understand the basic economic law of supply and demand?

Are you kidding me?

I'm very independent in my thinking especially when it comes to politics so I don't affiliate with any particular party as a result. Bottom line I do my own research on all candidates involved before I make an informed decision. I don't feel Hillary should be voted for just because she's a female and I don't think that Obama should be voted for simply because he's a black male. We have to take a serious long and hard look at their politics.
