Vagina Monologues: V-DAY To The TENTH... New Orleans, La ( Repost from nola.com)

The Vagina Monologues V-DAY Project 10th Anniversary
New Orleans, Louisiana SUPERDOME

I just wanted everyone to be aware of this wonderful happening and if you have already made plans or are making plans to attend. Feel free to hit me up. I'm looking forward to seeing some of you beautiful sistahs and please share with friends.

April 11 and 12 will find the Louisiana Superdome interior turned into a pink and red vagina -- "with a big vagina entrance," Ensler said -- as a setting for performance events, parties, parades, workshops, wellness and education programs, speakers, even spa treatments, which will be free to residents of New Orleans and the Gulf South. (Men are excluded only from the spa.)

On April 12, "The Vagina Monologues," which has become a worldwide phenomenon, launching the V-Day project to end violence against women, will play the 17,000-seat New Orleans Arena with a cast scheduled to include Jane Fonda, Glenn Close, Jennifer Hudson, Ellen DeGeneres, Charmaine Neville, Salma Hayek, Rosario Dawson, Ashley Judd, Julia Stiles, Marisa Tomei and Oprah Winfrey, for whom Ensler is writing a new monologue.

a work in progress.. design on a dime (more like a nickel lol)

So its crunch time and Im finally packing up my Austin apt. My post-Katrina displacement is coming to an end and I'm returning home to New Orleans to finish school. I will be living with my folks for a while in a rented house and am looking to make my new digs as "Me" as possible without going against the lease or emptying my extremely meagar budget. Its going to be a serious readjustment trying to turn a single room into a home vs. an entire apt. I am very excited about returning but not so much about the task at hand. been reading a few style blogs and coming up with a few ideas but i've come to realize that this is not as easy as it looks. Comfort level is key, I must stay focused and prioritze. Lots of stuff will be sent either to storage or given away. I've never gone away to college or stayed in a dorm but I imagine that this is what it must feel like. Im interested in so many styles, themes, colors, etc that its hard to choose. I really dont know where to start. but I believe I will start with my bed since thats where every day ends and begins. I know I'm probably over-thinking this...things were so much simpler when i liked clouds and rainbows.
