Calling on you!

As the season is changing, like clock work, my hair is changing too. I need help. As for those who have read my blogs, you know that I have come to my senses and transitioned to the natural way of living in hair care. I have been free of relaxers since June and everything was working out nicely. Until the end of last month. I have noticed my hair is dry and lacks moisture. I need advice on a new regimen to treat my hair during these changing seasons. I'm not necessarily seeking out particular products, but essential ingredients I should look for in products to leave my hair moisturized.

I came right to this site because my sisters have yet to leave me in the dark on anything I've needed. I thank you in advance for your helping hand.

Until then...stay blessed!

Adapting Nicely

Oh my!!! Who would have known the decision to transition from a relaxed cut swooped to the side to a kinky fro cut would be one of the best decisions I've ever made for myself and for my hair! I am rocking this fro like no one's business. I added to my wardrobe, purchased a few new accessories to have a nice collection to rotate with, and have developed a different type of stroll. I remember this stroll. I am happy to have it back. Hair has so much control, I am happy to be able to regain that control.

Jump for Joy!

As I posted previously, I am in the transitional stage from relaxed to natural with a 6 week old relaxer. I have seen my stylist in Lexington and drove an hour to consult with a stylist who "specializes" in natural hair. I place quotes around specializes because I am starting to question what all that means. Do I necessarily need to consult with someone to grow my hair out naturally? Because naturally is it not going to do what it is going to do anyway?! I think it's a good question...so I've decided to put my faith in someone else's hands while going through this process. My own!

My own some kinda

On my search for my own some kinda, I am trying to build my foundation in Lexington, KY. After losing my Nanny last January and deciding to end a relationship after five years of young love not yet matured, my journey began. My current theme park ride adventure involves purchasing my first home, starting a new school year [as a 4th year teacher], pursuing my Masters, and making the decision to embrace the desire of having a natural head of hair!

As I googled for guidance on how to effectively embrace this desire, I came across this website. I am here in hopes of finding people who will "hold my hand" during this process. Lexington is a great city, but Kentucky lacks diversity. I have found the best stylist for me, but I only rely on my beautician for so much [who I see every 2 weeks].

I am in my transitional phase from relaxer to natural with a five week old relaxer, a recent trim because of fear of the "big chop." Although I don't have much length, I think it was fear on both parts of the outcome. By the end of next month, I will have all of my relaxer grown/cut out.
